Scott,
I read most of the market study provided, but this mentions nothing about Quixtar. The market analysis is for selling Amway products, not selling Quixtar products which is not Amway. Maybe they are an affiliated branch of Amway, but still not selling Amway products. I've tried Amway products and they are nothing spectacular vs purchasing products from a retail store. What I did like about our LOS's approach and Quixtar is that you have a choice to purchase non name brand items, or brand name items as well, all at a discounted price. Which means, I can go to a store in the mall, try on brand name clothing, and then go home and order the same item through Quixstar at a discounted price due to the fact that all the fat has
been trimmed off the cost of the item and you are purchasing it directly from the manufacturer. To me, this sounds rather good. Yes, purchasing non name brand items is will give you a bigger bang for your buck in PV, but I still have the choice if I want to or not.
I agree about the tapes, and seminar costs, they are a bit much, but you do get to write it all off at the end of the year in taxes since it is a business related expense, so in essence, you still get it back.
Did I miss anything, or am I way off base on my thinking!?
Dave

Man, what a complete and pathetic loser you are. Do you have that little of a life that you must spend all your time maintaining a website that bashes a business that is going to change the world? People like you is the reason this country is going to shit and it's people who run our group that are going to change this country for the better. Get you a life, loser. ABog316@aol.com

Hello, My name is Melissa and I have diligently doing research, along with my mother-in-law, on all negative material about Quixtar. My husband is getting sucked in. He just joined on Monday and so far has given them over 200 dollars of our money and spent well over 15 hours of time. They are promising him early retirement, being able to be at home with his family, and all of the finer things in life. I am trying to get him out of before he gets in deeper. They have him convinced that this is better than a college education. They tell me that they cannot tell him not to go to college though as they would then get in trouble. Boy, they sure know how to cover there butts. I wish that you would help me get him out!! Please write me back or send me any negative information. I need all the help I can get getting him out of this "CULT".
Sincerely,
Melissa

Good Evening
I am writing to you because I have just finished reading the web page dedicated to explaining the legalities of Quixtar, if you will. I am thankful that I have read it. Since signing up as an IBO on August 5, 2004, my husband and I have charged over $950 to our credit card, and to be honest with you, I am not even sure what it was all for! Sure, we've bought our 1-year registration fee to the website, and the introductory package that you get when you register, however, I was under the assumption that the $240 we paid for registration fees would garner us some literature and BSM's to get started. We got a copy of the BSMAA, an IBO Order form and a Member/Client order form for Quixtar, some literature about the Artistry make-up line (which, before I met Quixtar, I'd never even heard of before) and a package of products from the website which included a 2-month supply of vitamins which we'll never even use, some meal replacement bars that tasted less than satisfactory, some hand soap, some lotion that I wouldn't use on a pig, and 2 aerosol cans of breath spray, which gave me a sore throat after using it. I was totally unaware that the product package, which made up for the bulk of out "registration fee" was what we were getting. I was not told that that was what the reg. fee was for. Perhaps the person who recruited me was unaware of this, I certainly hope this is the case, as I would not suspect my best friend from childhood on to deceive me in such a manner. I am very skeptical of this whole situation, and convincing my husband that we may have made a very bad decision is going to be a very difficult task, as he is very much excited about the prospect of retiring in two years, as Quixtar leads it's IBO's to believe. Please, if you will, send me any additional information or links regarding the shadiness of this organization, so that I may become better informed of it operation. Please do not publish my name to anyone or in any part of your website

Scott,
I wanted to write you in regards to the NBC Quixtar story. I must say I'm shocked as a IBO. The claims of income by the individuals is definitely overstated and the ease of obtaining that type of income in that short of a time is difficult. I have talked to several of my friends and diamonds an have come to the following conclusion.
1) a fifty thousand a year income in realistic within 12-18 months.
2) The majority of the income (excluding system tools and events) is around the movement of goods and services. How much I say around 95 percent. Tools and speaking the remainder of the income.
3) The diamonds income from tools and events is under my support group is under 100k a year.
4) A EDC founders IBO income is around 977,000 a year. Do they do it every year? Some do, some don't.
5) Does my line of sponsorship promise a mansion, cars , boats mansions etc.? No
They promise with hard work, focus, a consistent activity level, proper training of my associates , knowing what they want and proper counseling, setting up the proper mix of IBO'S and clients, sales of products. I will get what I want out of the system!
It seems that NBC used the biggest and the most outlandish claims to smear this corporation.
It strange when major corporations bring in people to motivate their people is OK.
Its OK to promise top producers vacations, cars, trips, stock options and other types of incentives to motivate their people.
It seems strange that being a small business owner other than Quixtar uses these things to motivate their employees and clients it OK. It stange in my universally accepted business. I work hard, motivate myself, focus on the positive (I've wathced probablly two hundred hours of TV in the last 21 months. That is my decision not my mentors teaching). What have been the results:
A income of over 100k in my conventional business!
Now with Quixtar will I be driving a Rolls next year No! Even if I had the money my answer would be so!
Can I put into practice what my conventional business does and succeed? Yes!
You may wonder why I would not just redouble my efforts in my conventional business. The answer is simple: J Paul Getty said to a gentlemen. I became a Billionaire by helping others become millionaires.
Also one of friends Tim told me he succeeded in his own businesses said he found people that are successful and really did not want to be their own. While Tim still works hard, it is fun when he gets invest in minor league baseball team as a hobby(Oh the way the pocket change was two million dollars). Did he do it Quixtar? Are the rules for success the same Yes!
Scott in closing I will email several times this year about my journey to Platinum. The good and the bad. I hope you are willing to look this objective and spread the of freedom verses bondage. I know one thing the choice for freedom is not measured in Rolex watches, houses, boats yachts. But the lives you can touch and impact for eternity
Sincerely, Rebuttal 2004
Hi,
1) I find $50K/year in net in come in 12-18 months very unrealistic. I doubt you can find anyone willing to actually prove this claim with data.
2) I find your assumption that tools comprise only 5% of income at most is also unrealistic. I doubt you will find any Emerald or Diamond, let alone a platinum who can come up with only 5% in tools.
4) The latest data I had was just over 700K/year.
http://www.amquix.info/quixtar_income.html
5) My understanding is that Dateline picked the meeting closest to them to go to. They did not search out one IBO that was making wild claims.

Dear Mr. Larson,
Last night my husband and I attended a meeting concerning becoming a Quixtar IBO. Although the information provided seemed interesting and something we would not mind doing "on the side," one thing seemed to be glossed over.
When I asked if all I stand to lose is my initial investment of $128.00, the director of the meeting told me "absolutely" and then quickly moved on. It left me with the feeling that something was amiss.
My question to you is this. How or where would I research to find out the answer to my question? Any assistance you could give me would be appreciated.
Sincerely,
Marci

Hi Scott,
I felt compelled to finally sit down and write a quick note to you today. I hope this will make sense.
I first want to Thank You for the committed stand you are taking in sharing the information on your AmQuix site. I firmly believe that this information is vital for the public to be able to read. For far too many years, the company has had exclusive domain of the information pipeline. I feel confident in saying that you, through your site, have probably saved many people from getting involved with a business that is positioned to work against the IBOs own best interest. Thank you.
I do not have much flexibility with my finances at this time. I would like to offer whatever support I can as well as moral support. With recent events of your pending suit, I am sure it has placed a burden upon you. I am sorry if that is the case and sorry that I can offer little more than my encouragement.
I own and operate my own blog, MLM today, and due to my experience from the AmQuix business, I do not support that business structure. I guess I am one of those "commie lib pinko bastages" as well as a member of the "gang of ten....no....eight".
I am sure I speak for a great many people that are aware of the situation when I say Thank You Scott. If there is some way that I can be of assistance, please feel free to let me know.
Sincerely,
Dave

I have this guy harassing me about Quixtar. He has already gotten my father into this scheme and wants me in also. The only thing he keeps repeating is "you want to make money, don't you?", "don't you want discounts on great products that you use every day?"
What can I say to this guy to shake him off?

Hello scott,
I really appreciate this site because they tried to scam me. I read the information on your site before they ran their little pre-planned game down on me. I tried to get an access number so that i could register on the quixtar site but they kept putting me off. They kept me up late at night and fed me a late night dinner to make me tired; and I suppose this was to make me too tired to read any bylaws are stipulations that they had while they processed me. Everything gives me a sneaky feeling.
But can you direct me to a site that clearly explains the PV downline calculations?
thnx

I'm trying to save a very dear friend from the clutches of amway. The section on your web site about Bill and Peggy's separation might be very very helpful information, but I will absolutely have to prove it's legitimacy beyond just a posting on your web site. I am wondering if you can provide me some information on acquiring some indisputable original source material in regards to the separation.
Thanks in advance,
Ron Allen
The Britt's separation is highlighted at the beginning of this court document to prevent Bill from moving assets from the marriage.

I'm a bit shocked! I have been signed up for 23 years. Built hard and heavy in Bill Burch's group four many years. Then after showing plan to over 400 folks ...only made 1500 pin. Then had children but in 93 transferred to Paul Miller's group. Loved all the years in Amway and the Britt organization. But after showing the plan to another 3-400 folks I'm now relaxing and have recently thought of cranking it back up. three times a charm they say. But I'm shocked to see the articles about Bill Britt and Paul Miller. Paul and Debbie were the sweethearts of the Amway Business. It was always said the had the perfect business structure. I'm sad to see the info. Very hard to believe! Dave and Lorna...hard to believe. Jim and Betty Jean Brooks. Gosh, we got into the business two months after we were married...it was a wonderful experience. The dreams, the people, it was truly awesome in the early 80's. It is just sad. Sincerely, A very truly sad distributor

Scott,
My experience may seem a bit different from most of your visitors...
Although I made it to the 1000PV level, I never surpassed it. I cant say that my experience was a total waste. I actually enjoyed alot of it. Got to travel around the country to functions, meet new people. No, I really couldnt afford it, but hey, when else would I have gone to some of these places? Anyways, I found reading the books, and listening to tapes to be very helpful. Most of it makes sense: Be positive, have a dream worth fighting for and be willing to work hard to get it. So in a sense, its an education. I am no longer an "active" IBO.. but I took those basic principles and started a Video Production business on my own. I never agreed with EVERYTHING that was said at functions and from my upline... but I may have never had the courage to start something else. So maybe it wasn't a complete waste of time!

Scott,
I have been involved with Quixtar for about 4 months now and I keep getting this site thrown back to me from folks I approach about the business. I am curious as to your background. Please don’t take this the wrong way. I am not judging you or questioning you about your site but I would like to know what makes you say what you say about this program. I was and still am very skeptical about Quixtar and my wife really wants to stay in it. I see some of the things you have put on your site as very true and believable and would like to know more. Please respond either by email or call me when you have a chance.
Thank you,
Blake
Hi Blake,
Thanks for the note.
My background: BSME- Purdue, MSIA- Purdue (11 month accelerated MBA), President of the 1978 national Junior Achievement Company of the year. Presently employed in manufacturing in Germany for Robert Bosch.
Why worry about the background when the facts are easier to check? I give all my sources. You can check on anything usually I print. With the information you can make your own decision. I'm just providing facts. What is funny is nobody questions those...they always want to know about me.
I was in Amway years back and was disappointed by the lack of integrity in the business. In 1998 I started my website as a hobby to learn how to make a webpage.....since then it turned into a big website. I'm not big on fancy graphics and snazzy pages...just the cold hard facts.
You can call me any time in Germany...I'm six hour ahead of you and I go to bed around 11pm, 5 pm your time. I tried to call you just now but got your machine.
Regards,
Scott
Scott,
Thank you for your response. I am questioning Quixtar very much because I am not understanding how the money is made and where it all comes from. I am glad that you have taken the time to produce such a site to answer many of the questions that I am sure many have asked. Do you or have you profited from this site at all? I have noticed on the web the letters back and forth from the lawyers to you and see that they really don’t like what your doing. I can see their point if your opening the eyes of prospects before they spend there money on Quixtar. I only wish I would have done this before I spent my money on it.
Thanks again,
Blake

Scott,
I was in the Grant line of sponsorship, I was considered one of there leaders, I was actually sponsored by Paul and placed in one of his downline groups. When this all broke out I was sitting in Amy and Leo grants home, asking questions about this as most of her downline had learned of this through the media. During the long period I was in this group we were preached to about the importance of integrity. We were also told that Paul was above board on this and not to worry it would all come out in the wash. Then everything went quiet as people that stood behind them started to loose everything. We had a profitable business but it was diminishing fast. I think you left out a few more facts. There was another key players in getting people to the business there name was Sam & Barbara Hall they too were out advocating this ponzi scheme to there downline and even to some crossline. Another fact is Paul's wife Laura left him as soon as the money ran out and trouble started. Pauls daughter also committed suicide she was found in the grant home, and in one of your articles by John Grant that the grants were not all about money is crap. Every meeting we had was about money, Amy changed the presentation program almost monthly updating it to CD's and then charging her whole organization 10 per cd. I can never remember attending a meeting where some money was required. Meetings were set up by don storms where you had no choice but to stay at his facility buy into his motel packages and meals if you wanted to attend his conferences. They were grossly out priced and as luck would have it was being controlled by the storm's son. Many of my friends in this business were hurt. By either loosing there down line, some even lost there retirement and homes due to the high integrity the grants demanded. John Grant also mentions how Amy would travel across the world to meet the newest guy in the business, that is a load of crap. The only way I got to meet Amy and Leo is if I went out sponsored a lot of people in a short time and showed that I was bringing new faces to the business. The minuet I got into a slump and was not being productive in the business I was no longer welcome to attend " The Special Meetings". If I challenges the things I was being charged for I was told that I lost my dream and focus. Well Don Storms, Amy & Leo Grant, I hope you enjoyed the High Life, of people kissing your ASS in hopes of one day being like you Believing in you and chasing a dream every American Wants. All I can Say Now.... Is welcome to the real world where you are just another number. Tax # that is. Welcome to the world of 2 jobs to get by. Welcome to the world of someone else telling you to send money. The only prayer I can have now for you and all your families is that you are forced from riches to rags, that you have to look around for your next meal, you have to decied to pay your light bill or eat for all the people you bilked money out of chasing a dream for a better life to line your pockets.
Keep up the good work this is a great site. I have contacted my whole organization and sent them to this site. I am glad to see that even the very rich cannot hide there crap.

Scott,
I have several thousand Britt system tapes in my attic. I often wonder if I can ever let them go. It is kind of like keeping the old record player, you know? It is almost nostalgic. I was involved for over 25% of my life. I was in for about 11 years. And even though now I’m starting to agree with the analysis of people like Bo Short, etc. Besides the negative impact the system had on me, I also was changed in ways that will have an everlasting positive affect on my life. I have even been known to pull them out and listen to some every now and then. I never got past 4000pts, which I hit only 3 times. Each time it was during a push to get someone else to a higher pin level and always involved people on my team including me buying stuff we certainly did not need to buy….shall we say, "over-stock" and "debt building". Oh, but the focus and adrenaline rush to pull it off was quite a high and I loved every minute of it.
And I cannot leave out my brother’s selling machine friend, Shawn. He was 2 in depth and that boy could sell those large ticket items..water purifiers, encyclopedias, heck about 3000 or more points were from his own personal sales. He and his dad both could sell ice to Eskimos, so they sponsored a lot of people that did nothing, but I had about 40ish in that leg at the hight of the momentum during that time. It was a classic flamingo leg with nobody in width anywhere hardly. My upline jumped out of it when Shawn refused to move to the big city as they recommended. Shawn and I were to novice to know what to do with it and eventually it dried up.
That is just a tip of the iceberg of my experience. Other great topics are the upline diamond is Mormon and the conflicts and clash that caused with the fundamental Christians. The girlfriend/fiancé that was in a crossline group and was 4000 when we met, but went silver and psdd while we dated. Her parents were her flamingo leg and they too eventually went psdd I heard. But boy the conflicts we created by such an intimate crossline relationship, boy did we stir up the pot and I mean all the way up to Bill Britt with some questions and issues. Both or uplines refused to approve any exchanges, so one of us had to walk from our group to marry. You talk about emotional and mind games, we both suffered it from our uplines. Then there was the upline hopping, where an emerald could not work with his diamond so he plugged into his up-up line EDC instead. That same Emerald was my fiancé’s sponsor, and she was one of his psdd legs that kept him qualified emerald….oh is was like Amway soap opera in my experience. I saw the Mafia tactics and heard of the threats and blackmail that my upline diamonds endured because they had different religious beliefs.
But the most fascinating things I have learned lately is the prince of holiness, Paul Miller and his antics. I guess that was about 2 years ago now, but even being out of the business for a couple of years at the time I heard that, it floored me. I could not believe it. I did not believe it until I found the "profiles of success" book on britt’s website with just his picture without Debbie. And then a few days ago, I learned of Britt’s antics. Jesus’ numero uno general alive today and to be at his side to battle Satan throughout the rest of time….blah, blah, blah. When it comes to a little extra girlie time on the side, "he would not be denied". I’m still not sure from what I’ve read that the evidence is clear, but none the less, I did read Peggy’s restraining order and that is compelling and sad.
Anyway, I was gonna just write the first line, and I couldn’t stop……
Jack

Scott,
First off I want to say I like your http://www.amquix.info/ web site.
I have been doing research for years on the impact Holiday Magic Cosmetics has had on both the MLM organizations and how they in turn have impacted the Human Potential and training and development organizations that may or may not have anything to do with MLM / Network marketing.
I will save time and not go into detail now as I have no idea wheather this topic is of interest to you or if you would be interested in what data I could share with you, regarding links and background information.
Additionally I am from Cincinnati Ohio home of Procter & Gamble. I may have missed it on your site. Do you know of Amway distributors attempts to label P&G as a satanic cult?
Make it a great day!

Hi Scott,
On the topic of Training and Motivation: It seems that in the early 1960's William Patrick Penn bought a cosmetics company (Holiday Magic Cosmetics) and began to turn it into a MLM organization. He was interested in motivation and how to get more performance out of his people. Books, LPs, tapes and training were all part of the overall plan. I have read where Earl Nightingale's classic "Lead the Field" was sold to distributors. Two separate training operations came out of this one being Leadership Dynamics Institute (presumably developed by William Patrick Penn) and the other being Mind Dynamics (developed by Alexander Everett). Mind Dynamics was a franchise operation on its own. http://perso.wanadoo.fr/eldon.braun/awareness/mind.htm
Many of those who were around the Mind Dynamics organization went on to form the Large Group Awareness Training's (LGAT's) that were popular in the 1970's and remain well attended to this day. These early trainings have paved the way for an entire industry and have impacted many of the traditional training programs offerred for legitimate corporations.
The Leadership Dynamics Institute program is very interesting in that it has been documented in a book called the Pit by Gene Church, which became the basis for a b-grade movie called Brainwash.
The Pit - Chapter one:
http://www.stomptokyo.com/movies/brainwash.html
Rather than cut and paste all these links, I will direct you to the Awareness Page which hasn't been updated in a while and yet still contains some good information about training and movivation, i.e. LGAT's or Awareness trainings. http://perso.wanadoo.fr/eldon.braun/awareness/
and if you have not read Steve Hassan http://www.freedomofmind.com/ I think you would enjoy it, of particular interest to you might be this page: http://www.freedomofmind.com/resourcecenter/groups/a/amway/
There are many, many pages and newsgroups addressing these motivational groups. If you find this information valuable, add them to your web pages. I have much more and can guide you if you would be interested further.
I would love to get my particular questions relating to time line issues resolved. I am currently most interested in Zig Ziglar's and Glenn Turner's alleged participation in Holiday Magic Cosmetics. Were either one of them involved in the Mind Dynamics? Were either one of them involved in the Leadership Dynamics Institute? To what degree? During what time period?
I doubt you would be able to answer these questions, I don't even know how much you have heard of these topics before today. However, you may have access to people who have been around different MLM Network marketing scams who could provide this data.
I am very interested in hearing your perspective on this information. Please take the time and write back to me when you have taken the opportunity to read this information and followed some of the links.
Make it a great day!
Randy

Hi, we were just at a Quixtar meeting. We were invited by a friend. After listening for a short time my husband and I recognized that this was Amway. We were active Amway Distributors from 1989-1995. We did learn and mature a lot through the leadership materials we purchased but almost went broke doing it. We did everything our upline told us to do but could never get a strong downline going. We spent a lot of money and never even made it to the first level. We always did our "100" pv and that was about it. Anyway, there was even less information in the plan we saw tonight than when we used to show it. It didn't even really tell how you made money. The deceit is very apparent. After the speakers stopped talking we told our friend that this is Amway and she was shocked and said no it isn't. She even said that even though Quixtar was the company they go through it was not a part of there group! We then came home and found this site while looking this info up. We were obviously right. When we got in the business we were also told that it wasn't Amway, it was Networking and that Amway was "just one of the companies we deal with"! After Amway we did get into another mlm because of a family member. It was STS. It was a short lived phone card selling business. We did actually make some money in that venture before it went belly up! This group is heavily promoting the tapes and books and seminars. The more things change the more they stay the same. Thank you for the info on your site.
Judy
Hi Scott,
Yes, they kind of detailed a two leg plan very briefly and never even mentioned the amount of money you could make. The speaker said something like...you get, say 50 down this line and 25 down this line, do you think that you and all the people you know could find 75 people who would want to do this? Sure you can!...that was about it! Being in Network Marketing for about 7-8 years (they didn't want to call it Amway then either, it was just the clearing house we go through!) we immediately recognized it as Amway. They mentioned that Mark and Bill (or something like that) had copyrighted Quixtar. They made it sound like they had invented this business. I said to my husband that all they did was change the way the plan was outlined and got a DBA (doing business as) copyright on the name. After checking out your site we see we weren't too far off. My friend who invited us was very shocked when we said after, that we had been there, done that as we were previously in Amway. She said that no way was this Amway and that Quixtar was only a clearing house that this group uses. It sounded very familiar but we didn't push it. Don't get me wrong, I don't think it was all a waste of time and money. We learned some very good business sense and have used the principles taught by our upline and through the books we read in many different ways. We are better people because of what we learned. The only thing we regret is that we were kind of deceived in the beginning and that we stayed in too long, which in turn lead us to spend lots of money we didn't have. We won't be fooled again. Thanks again for your information.
Judy

Subject: HELP!! Quixtar is recruiting us
My story is a long one, so I won't bore you with too many details. My husband has been "pursued" by a Quixtar member for almost a year. A few weeks ago, a couple from Quixtar came to our house to sign us up. A few years ago, someone tried to talk us into Amway, and fortunately my husband and I saw the light and said no. Quixtar member who is trying to recruit him is a good friend who's opinion my husband values. I'm very skeptical for many reasons and feel they are trying to overwhelm me with reasons to join.... I'm supposed to meet Mr. Don McCall this Thursday (8/19) to "hear him out."
At our initial meeting with this Quixtar couple who tried to sell us on the savings of using Quixtar, I specifically asked the gentleman how this was different from Amway. He said it wasn't the same and they were not related, and then changed the subject (I asked this question before learning from your website that Quixtar and Amway are the same.) I've done some quick research on the internet (finding your useful site) as well as through Lexis Nexis. I found 6 civil lawsuits filed in California - 4 of them are Quixtar filing against an individuals) for breach of contract, two are against Quixtar. Why are they suing individuals for breach of contract?
A year ago my 8 month old daughter was diagnosed with a rare and devastating form of Epilepsy. She may not live past the age of 5. The past year has been stressful for my husband and myself - I had to keep working in order to keep our health insurance for her needs, and he is self employed earning 100% commission. I should be staying home with my daughter to help her special needs but can't because of our insurance needs. I can't help but feel as if we are a "prime" target for a scam like this- I feel very vulnerable, and our marriage is feeling the stress.
I'm not sure of your history with this company, or why you've chosen to educate the public on the internet, but I'd really love some ammunition in the way of questions for this Mr. McCall guy I'm supposed to meet on Thursday. My husband paid the initial fee and signed us up, and said we have 3 months to back out. Please help me - my gut tells me this business is bad.
Sincerely, Kelly in California

Hi Scott
I havn't been in Biz for several years but a Direct off Kevin Dodge in the IBS Gregary group had an affair with a down line. The biz is a home wrecker!!and a complete con we spent years trying for nothing to make money. We lost loads of friends and had to move home and still have the stigma of Amway clinging to us.

Thought you might like this little ditty
btw - I was in Amway in the UK for about 9 years and reached the Direct Distributor level (and in fairness actually made an overall profit during the time I was in the business!!)
If you want to know more I would be happy to tell my tale, which includes some juicy bits of upline seductions of downline spouses - upline rip offs and break aways from the "system" etc etc
anyway here is the thing I was sending you....
In the beginning was the plan
And then came the assumptions
And the plan was without substance
And the assumptions were without form
And darkness was upon the face of the workers
And they spoke among themselves saying "It is a crock of shit, and it stinks"
And the workers went unto their sponsors and said "It is a pail of dung, and none may abide the odour thereof"
And the sponsors went unto their Directs, saying, "it is a container of excrement, and it is very strong, such that none may abide by it"
And the Directs went to their Emeralds, saying "It is a vessel of fertilizer, and none may abide by its strength"
And the Emeralds spoke among themselves saying to one another, "it contains that which aids plant growth, and it is very strong"
And the Emeralds went to the Diamonds saying unto them, "it promotes growth, and is very powerful"
The Diamonds went unto the AMO, saying unto them, "this new plan will actively promote the growth and vigor of the company, with powerful effects"
And the AMO looked upon the plan and saw that it was good
And the plan became policy
Hi Scott
you asked if anyone knows the status of various pins who are "Missing in Action" and one in particular stood out for me
Lyndon & Janet Farrington UK (Emerald-International Business Systems)
I can answer this for you as I was one of their downline Directs (below another Emerald)
Lyndon and Jeanette (not Janet) broke away from the IBS organisation taking with them 2 "legs" of their group, this consisted of another Emerald couple (Chris & Adele Pomelli) a Pearl (Frank & Sandie Hulme) a Ruby Direct (Dave and Kathy George) and about 20 or so directs (myself and first wife included) and approx 4000 distributors.
The way it was sold to us at the time was that IBS had grown to such a size that it had become difficult to organise functions and that it was natural progression that groups would break away, it soon became very evidently not even near the truth. I now lapse into hearsay as I did not have direct knowledge of this myself - Lyndon was apparently having an affair with the wife of a personally sponsored Direct, whom I shall not name here. The IBS hierarchy was very displeased at this and had a "high volume discussion" with Lyndon which resulted in Lyndon breaking away. As I said I cannot personally verify that last piece of information, but it would seem to be in his nature as you will see before I finish this account. Initially, in the interests of everybody's business IBS and Lyndon's new IDS organisation, it was decided to promote this as an amicable split, but within days IBS had changed their minds and did everything within their power to destroy our new set up, this included in directs posted at various hotels where it was known we were holding open meetings to try to warn distributors off from attending. Far flung distributors who attended other open and training evenings held by IBS were no longer allowed entry and were also treated to as much bad mouthing about Lyndon and his team as the distributors were prepared to take. Many other things were done at the same time, most of which was aimed at the directs in Lyndon's "other" group (I was one of the directs downline of the Pomelli's and therefore not contacted at all- perhaps they didn't trust us as Chris was a VERY effective controller of his group).
Initially things went well, but within a few months half of the directs (all of Lyndon's other leg which broke away) went back to IBS leaving Lyndon with just the one legged organisation, which by now was becoming more and more controlled by Chris Pomelli, even though 4 of the directs were in fact UPLINE of him. The next thing to occur was that one of these directs (Ruby) also went back to IBS - we were being treated to the "death by a thousand cuts" it seemed!
It then became knowledge that Lyndon, who by now had been taking a very back seat in all what was happening, had been having yet another affair with a downline distributor, this time, I believe, a single lady called Heidi. Lyndon and Jeanette broke up and I believe Jeanette retained the business and went back to IBS with the remainder of the directs between herself and the Pomelli group.
Suffice to say much much more happened which would make a story in itself, but that will have to wait for another time (if you want it?)
I now understand that Lyndon & Heidi got themselves re sponsored into the business (in IBS no less!!) and have built the business to the Pearl level - I did hear (again hearsay) that IBS are very wary of him and he has had no stage recognition as such and certainly no speaking opportunities.
Hope this is of help/interest to you

Subject: Quixtar
I read their book, "The Parable of the Pipeline", listened to a portion of one of their CDs, went to one of their meetings (2 hours and 15 minutes long) just to be left with the question of "HOW DO YOU MAKE THE MONEY?!!!"
My nice neighbor who invited me there couldn't explain it so she asked one of the guys (who have been in this longer) and he couldn't explain it either! I felt insulted that the speakers at this meeting, or seminar, told me exactly what I had read and heard on their CD - and my neighbor's "mentor" had told me this same money/dream rhetoric the first day I was approached with Quixtar people. I felt like the information they gave out went around and around but no real answers. You are so right that it is all about recruiting people and the TEAM concept. My nice neighbor just bought into it - received her first shipment. (I asked if she had to pay shipping, she said $50.00!! She is a single parent and is financially just staying afloat. I hate to bust her bubble but she is too nice to be taken by all this. Thanks so much for all of the information!

Hi Scott. I've heard rumblings that Mike & Barb Popovich have dropped out of the coveted WWG circle for some reason or another, but I can't find any information on them. They are (were?) Diamonds under the Danzik organization - went Diamond in 2001. Any info?

There are pictures of Bill and Peggy Britt together at the Atlantis in the Bahamas for Diamond Club (Feb 2004) featured in the latest Lamplighter (Britt magazine). They have obviously mended ways.

Scott,
I thoroughly enjoyed your website. You have done an outstanding job! Would you please elaborate about the 10 customer rule? I have been to about four Quixtar presentations (World Wide Group), and the idea being promoted is only buying from your own business and getting others to do the same. Nothing is ever mentioned about this 10 customer rule. In fact, they say that there is no selling involved whatsoever. Please help!
Thank you,
Chad
Hi Chad,
The 10 customer rule was in order to encourage retail sales. you must serivce 10 customers per month in order to qualify for a bonus. I suggest reading all the rules availalbe at this link. There is also the member client rule which is targeted for the groups with direct fulfillment. Most of WWDB is not on direct fulfillment.
http://download.quixtar.com/010-en/surfer/pdf/compendium.pdf
Scott
Thank you, Scott. I read the part of the link that you gave me regarding retail selling. They say that "Quixtar-affiliated IBO's earn money by selling products to their downline IBOs, registered Clients and Members...". Here is the part I don't understand: do the purchases of the downline IBOs from their "own business" count as selling products to downline IBOs for their upline?
Chad
Hi Chad,
The pdf link I sent you can be easily searched for 10 customer rule or "ten customer rule" by using "ctrl-F" which actives the "Find" function.
Scott
Hey Scott, please help me with the terminology in the Quixtar compendium that says IBOs earn money by "...selling products to their downline IBOs...". How can this be possible if the downline IBOs can simply purchase products from their own "store"? I can't see a need to do this for any reason. Am I missing something? It seems to me that this wording can be used to say that when a downline IBO purchases products, it can count as retail sales for the upline IBO. Your insight on this would be much appreciated. This is the last hurdle that I have regarding the retail sales rule.
Thanks,
Chad
Hi Chad,
The wording does not mean that dowline purchases are counted as retail sales. IBOs do earn commissions from downline sales, bu those sales should not be more than 50% of total sales to be a "legal" pyramid scheme. You must read the FTC regulations.
http://www.amquix.info/quixtar_pyramid-q-a.html
Scott
Scott,
Here is some interesting information for you. I just called the rules department at Quixtar (616-787-6712) and talked to Tonia. I asked for clarification on the 70% rule and the member/client rule. She told me that an IBO must sell 70% of their purchases to customers (just like the business reference guide says). When I asked for the definition of a customer her answer was "members and clients." At this point, I told her that the IBO recruiting me is promoting the plan as just purchasing from your own store and recruiting others to do the same. Her response was that if someone wanted to do that, then they should become a member or client, not an IBO because the IBO plan is to sell to customers. I then asked her if purchasing from my Quixtar store for my own consumption constituted selling to a customer (if I'm my own customer) and her answer was "no". This conversation confirmed to me that what I read about the 70% rule, retail selling, and member/clients should be taken just as it is written. Anyone promoting or doing anything else is breaking the rules and/or twisting the rules to say what they want them to say. I wish that I would have recorded the conversation! It was very enlightening to hear what I've been saying come out of their mouth.
Thanks for all of your help,
Chad
Scott, after reviewing this link: http://www.mlmlegal.com/louisiana.html, I feel that my argument with the 70% rule is invalid since I live in Louisiana. Do you have any insight on this?
Chad
Hi Chad,
yes, there are a couple of state that allow product based pyramids. I am not sure which ones however.
Scott
Scott,
You might be interested to know that I called my state Attorney General today (Louisiana is one of those states that supposedly allow product based pyramids) and they told me that the FTC has jurisdiction since it is an inter-state business. So, the FTC overrides any state legislation.

Your site is invaluable. All the questions i asked were answered with shallow answers. You saved me time and money
Thanks again.

Hey Scott,
First off I must say that lawsuit sounds like a complete line of bull. So with that out of the way, while like yourself I don't have piles of cash lying around (probably because I am one of those broke losers who quit the biz) I would like to know how I could help. I really believe what you and the others with sites like this are doing is a good thing, and I am looking into doing a site up here in Canada, maybe to help others in Canada as well as the U.S. If you like e-mail me backand if I can help I would be happy to. Thanks and take care

Dear Mr. Larsen,
I just wanted to verify with you, as an objective observer, if it is indeed true that Bill and Peggy Britt are separated due to an affair with Ms. Frankel on Bill's part. As you may already know, my husband and I are no longer active, although we still get a residual check monthly from Quixtar, and we are still friends with some of our upline and downline.
I was talking to one of my friends who is still active and she denied Britt's affair/and/or separation and also told me he spoke (without Peggy) at a function last weekend. (Covington summer conference). She also told me that Bill
said, from stage, that Peggy was doing great, they were doing great and that she couldn't come b/c she was at a reunion (50 year H.S. reunion)
My upline also denies the "rumor" and claims that they have not heard anything like that. Can they really be that naive or is Bill denying it flat out as well as the rest of his downline? Please let me know if you can.
The Britt's separation is highlighted at the beginning of this court document to prevent Bill from moving assets from the marriage.
PDF of court document.Scott,
It was back in September 2001. We view the loss as an investment, as it did in fact help me to develop my sales skills ( I was an Active Duty Army Officer while building the biz), and has led to a great deal of success for us since we have left the biz and the Army. This year, I will be a "Diamond" with the company that I work for and make over $200K.
Thanks for your site. It has really helped me and my former upline Ruby couple (who are STILL our friends) who is also no longer building the biz to realize that we made the right choice in leaving "The System".

Scott,
My wife and I spent 6 1/2 years building our Amway/Quixtar business, and achieved the Silver level during our first couple of years. In early 2001 I began to seriously question the business, especially the "Britt System". We had invested thousands in the "business" and were over $50,000 in debt because of our "business". The final death nail for us was at our last function, Free Enterprise Days (FED) in Houston in September 2001, a week and half after 9/11. It was there (and I also know that the same statement was made at the Raleigh, NC FED the weekend after FED) that Bill Britt claims to have had an appointment in the World Trade Centers the morning that 9/11 occurred. He claims that "God told him not to go to the appointment", of course, the Britt faithful interpreted this as being that God saved Britt because he had more in store for him. We left early on Sunday from the function and have never looked back. Reading now about Mr. Britt's current legal and marital troubles, I now realize what God did in fact have in store for him!

Scott,
I have been a fan of your site for a long time and you are right on the money.
As a former silver producer and speaker on many stages for McConnel family Enterprises/ Proven Business Systems, Brian and Judy McConnell Diamond, I can affirm nearly all you have to say regarding the deception, and problems with the System. I was involved heavily and regret deeply the years I spent in this organization. I am personally knowledgeable of the behind the scenes operations of the scam these people perpetrate.
I have been told after most of us left their organization, actively, the McConnells have moved to Russia. I do not believe they qualify any higher than direct now.
I would just like the years and money these people cost me back. Thanks for having the guts speak out on these crooks.

Your family must suffer much. With all the hub-bub, you forget to talk of the self-esteem issue that appears. Damn, think of being proud of who you are instead of who you were forced to be. You think your saving people, but, all you are doing is making them work until they are no longer able..and then fade away. -Peaceful

Hi Scott,
I think I'm having a heart attack. Or is it the weight being lifted from shoulders after 3 (yes, THREE - I was a "re-tread" twice!) different experiences in AmQuix covering 17 years of my life. I can't believe it took me this long to do a web-search and find your site. I have spent most of the last 24 hours (I even called in sick today) absorbing your site.
The short version is that now I have a sense of closure over my decision to leave the AmQuix Monster. The longer version will come in a later letter to you.
The interesting part is that now I don't know what to do with the new energy and emotion I'm feeling. Is this a new mission in life - to help free those still locked in the "system?" Time will tell - I have to reflect and pray where to go from here, if anywhere. I'm feeling a sense of responsibility to do my part -"silently fading away" somehow seems inadequate.
Anyway, thank you very much for your efforts. I cannot fully express the sense of freedom and relief I now feel; knowing I'm not alone in my experiences.
I was never a big pin, but I think my story, as one of the faithful minions, might benefit others looking for answers. I will write soon.
Blessings,
Gary

Scott,
I have been searching the web trying to find out how to file an Arbitration with Quixtar. What I've found tell me it's hopeless.
My husband and I were in a very small line (4 functioning couples) under a diamond in Utah. We had put 4 active years and about $25,000 into the business. Now we are not fools, and were doing all of this knowing there were no guarantees. We are hard workers and were following instructions of those who had become successful.
Earlier this year we noticed that contact and meetings just sort of disappeared. We talked to our sponsors who told us that the diamond and her "adopted" sponsor had been suspended.
Now there were no "gem" levels in our line. None of us were profitable, and all of us were not experienced enough to just go it alone.
Not once had the company contacted us. Not once did anyone from the company offer to place our line under a new leader. We were just set adrift and tossed away.
After 3-4 months I contacted a customer support person at Quixtar. She was nice, but tried to tell me that this was the time for the 4 couples to start their own functioning line on their own. EXCUSE ME?????!!!!!!!!!!
Here's me point: I feel the company and the Yeager organization broke faith but leaving us out in the cold. An IBO has an expectation of support from a company whom they have invested themselves and their money.
It's been 3 weeks now and I haven't heard back from the customer support site.
My husband and I have discussed arbitration, but really have no money to pursue this.
I can hear the people at Yeager saying "too bad, so sad". I just don't feel that this deed should go unpunished. How can someone like me file an arbitration and win?!
(please don't use my name or email on your site)

Dear Sir,
I find your site about Amway/Quixtar, though described as an informational site, seems to be specifically designed to show a negative view of the Amway Business Opportunity.
My own personal experience of the Amway Business has only ever been a positive one. I joined about 16 years ago & have found the "System" to be a Godsend to me. I firmly believe that without my affiliation to this wonderful business & the people involved in my line of sponsorship I would not have had the courage to go on living several years ago when my life was ripped apart by some serious personal challenges.
Some facts for you regarding my business,
I Live in Australia & am affiliated with the IDA group.
1. I have never worked very hard at this business.
2. I have never been forced to buy anything from the business.
3. I have made money from this business.
4. The monetary cost of the "System" is negligible when compared to what I have gained personally from using it.
5. The friends I have made through this business are by far the most honest & honorable people I've ever met.
I do hope you realize that your site may actually damage some very good people out there.
Finally, I feel that I am in "The Hope Business" & that absolutely anyone can do this business & it will work.

Mr Larsen,
It strikes me that you have absolutely nothing positive to say about an opportunity that has made thousands of people financially free. I suppose that must mean that you believe that investing in self developement through books and tapes is beneath you. Just because the majority of people are ignorant of the fact that such things could help them in all areas of their lives does not mean the people that have chosen to do so are "being conned" into it. Maybe if you tried listening to them everyday for a month you would see their benefit. I can say that they have helped me tremendously in many aspects of life.
As well, I assume that you condemn the Orlando Magic basketball team? Since they are also owned by the Access Business Group, aka alticore. I hope you don't like basketball, and I really hope they weren't your favourite team, because, Oh No! They are Amway, you can not support them anymore! Pretty much everything is a franchise these days, and if you are skeptical of Quixtar's foundation, don't forget all the other "pyramid schemes" such as McDonalds, Mary Kay, Eminem's Shady Records, 50 Cent's G-Unit, and YOUR JOB, where your boss makes most of the money you create for the company (Which is not how Quixtar works)!
By the way, just because a bunch of people are not successful in the business, does not mean it is the system's fault. Also, please remember how much white collar crime and scandals their are in EVERY major corporation and realize that just because these IBO's are in the spotlight does not mean they are the only ones with problems.

DEAR SIR,
MAYBE THIS IS OLD NEWS, BUT QUIXTAR HAS COME TO FLORIDA. I'M EMBARRASED TO ADMIT IT, BUT MY HUSBAND AND I JOINED UP AT A MEETING AT A FRIENDS HOUSE JUST YESTERDAY.
FLORIDA LAW IS THREE DAYS TO GET OUT OF A CONTRACT. BECAUSE OF THE INFORMATION ON YOUR WEB SITE, WE WILL BE REQUESTING THAT REFUND.
THANK YOU FOR THE INFORMATION ON YOUR SITE.

Dear Mr. Larsen,
I have been a reader, albeit infrequently, of your website for some time. today, I found something on a blog that has some bearing on your personal well-being, if I understand it correctly. It looks like
Quixtar's getting ready to assault you: http://www.webraw.com/quixtar/
I hope it goes well for you. After all, your site helped break me out of my short-lived Quixtar experience. Thank you for your public service, and best of luck for the future. Please let us know on the site if they are hassling you. This kind of treatment is ridiculous, and this harassment of AmQuix watchdog sites is really getting ominous. If there's anything I can do, let me know.--

Scott,
I finally went to a Quixtar open meeting, and was introduced to a handful of people last night. Overall, the meeting was Scary stuff, and quite effective from the looks of the crowd! Having seen it in action it seems quite clever for Quixtar to emphasize getting prospects to an open meeting right away, where they get a three hour dose, late at night, from people much more charismatic than the average IBO. Other nice touches include the business attire, the continual standing ovations, etc.
As a side note, the conference room used rents for less than $1000 to one shot customers, and I assume that Quixtar gets a much better deal since they do it every week...figure $500 or less. So they're making a huge amount of money with 200+ people paying $5/meeting, every week.
A couple of questions for you:
1. What is a "power player"? It must indicate a certain level of PV per month?
2. There was a bunch of stuff about how Quixtar can't be a legit business because of the major corportations that have discounts for Quixtar members. I though that all of these partner companies were through quixstar itself, so this means nothing about this group? Specifically both major speakers talked about how Disney wouldn't partner with them, etc. This might be good fodder for your website.
Anyway, I'll let you know what, if anything I find on my notes or tapes that might be useful.

Hi Scott,
Curiosity got the best of me this morning as a saw Ron Bassett (4Nexchange scam) walking down our street with his wife so I did a quick search of the web when I got to work and found your site. I've lived just around the corner from him for several years during this whole 4NExchange thing and was wondering if you had any info on Ron. I found quite a bit of info about Paul but Ron has been mysteriously exempt from comment.
I've refrained from asking Ron about it since I'm sure I'd get a one sided, "longer than I want", explanation; not to mention the embarrassment factor. I don't want to trash talk Ron or his family, just searching for any facts that may be out there. I'd also like to remain anonymous.

If not you are a cheat yourself. When you talk of Jim dornan who is my mentor why don't you quote his story when toiled to keep his child alive why didn't you take the lead to help him out.Forget that what about helping millions around the world. In any field only 2-3% people make to the top .You I am sure are in the dumps.
